What is computer hardware

Computer hardware refers to the physical components of a computer, such as the central processing unit (CPU), memory, storage devices, input devices, output devices, and communication devices. These components work together to perform the tasks that a computer is capable of, such as processing data, performing calculations, and communicating with other devices.

The CPU, also known as the processor, is the brain of the computer. It executes instructions and performs calculations. The memory, also known as RAM (random access memory), stores data and instructions that the CPU uses in the short term. Storage devices, such as hard drives and solid-state drives, store data and instructions for the long term.

Input devices, such as a keyboard and mouse, allow the user to input data and instructions into the computer. Output devices, such as a monitor or printer, allow the computer to display or print the results of its processing. Communication devices, such as modems and network cards, allow the computer to connect to other devices and exchange data with them.
